If we take what Paul is saying to heart , this Means Vito Bratta did BOTH Rhythmic and Non Rhythmic Solos together , or Sepearate on White Lion Songs .

The thing is Van Halen really didn't fit into these sorts of boxes... His rhythm playing was always on point but his solos had a freeform feel, dancing on the edge of the beat in a way nobody else did.

You can see when he really starts feeling it- and that's when it just soars. Hearing a true master composer performed by a true master instrumentalist is a straight-up privilege. Thanks Bach & thanks Gilbo =)

i think this advice is for beginner guitarist, in fusion or jazz, many advance guitarist is not playing rhythmicly, but again its the composition you cant play rhythmicly all the time because you will sounds like robot, play out of the tempo a litlle bit with poly rhythm.

Paul Gilbert is special. That’s my long term assessment. Maybe an embodiment of Bach, maybe an embodiment of Andy Warhol. But no. Paul Gilbert is Paul Gilbert. Deserving of a spot amongst the greatest composers and greatest of the musically literate.

He should get a singer, move it up a fifth, or at least put a moderate amount of "cornbread" or stress in the vocs, and turn 'em up a bit, IMHO. like the instrumental work, except I'd prefer the snare wires on.
